For over 30 years, the Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days) have been one of the milestone cultural events of the end of summer throughout France and the rest of Europe. Do you need accommodation while you experience this special festival? Our 3-star establishment, with its interior design by Christian Lacroix, is ideal. The Hôtel du Continent welcomes you in its unique and refined setting.
This year’s Heritage Days put young people in the spotlight
This year, the European Heritage Days will take place throughout France on the weekend of September 19th and 20th, 2020. Since 1984, this event has helped to make our cultural heritage more available through free admissions plus access to places that are usually off-limits to the public.
This year, the theme chosen in France for the Heritage Days is: “Heritage and Education: Learn Life!”. This 37th edition is particularly aimed at young people and highlights the essential role of heritage in education. In Paris and throughout the Île-de-France region, many historical monuments and public buildings will open their doors and offer guided tours.
Plenty of monuments and museums to visit close to the Hotel du Continent
During your stay at the Hôtel du Continent - located in the 1st arrondissement – you can take advantage of the 37th Heritage Days to visit the Jardins des Tuileries, the Palais Cambon (seat of the Court of Audit), or the Hôtel de Bourvallais (occupied by the Ministry of Justice). Simultaneously, several museums will offer free admission, including the Musée du Barreau, the Musée Cognacq-Jay and the Musée des Arts et Métiers.
